"Doctor, I don't think my body works the way it used to."
Patricia sat down in the consulting room chair and rested her hands on her knees. She hadn't planned on bringing this up today. But after three devices bought online and three quiet disappointments, she needed answers.
Dr Lauren Whitfield, a gynaecologist specialising in intimate wellness for women over 40, looked at her with a warm, knowing smile.
"Patricia, can I ask you something? When you buy a device, how long do you spend fiddling with the settings before you actually get started?"
Patricia shrugged. "Last time, I spent more time pressing buttons than… enjoying anything. I ended up just switching the thing off."
Dr Whitfield nodded. "That's exactly what I've been hearing in this room for twenty years. And I'm going to tell you something that might surprise you."
She picked up a pen and drew two circles on a sheet of paper.
"Think of your body like a radio. It picks up on two frequencies at once — one internal, one external. Most devices only broadcast on one frequency. The result? Weak signal. You keep turning the dials, flicking from one mode to the next, and eventually you start thinking the radio must be broken. But the radio isn't broken, Patricia. It's the transmitter — it's simply not hitting the right frequencies."
Patricia felt something loosen in her chest. "So… it's not me?"
"No. It's not you. It's the design of what you've been using. What you actually need is a device that stimulates both zones at the same time, in perfect sync — and most importantly, one that guides you rather than leaving you to guess. These days, there are devices built for exactly that. With ready-to-go programmes, a positioning guide, and a setup so straightforward you don't even need to glance at a manual."
Patricia smiled for the first time since she'd walked in. "Are you talking about a device or a bedtime ritual?"
"Both, Patricia. Exactly both."
